Interactive Hospitality Wall
Project Details
This installation consists of a curved interactive wall that combines projection of animations, light effects and audio with “touch” sense by means of wood and felt as principal materials. This is part of “Experience Kazakhstan through 5 senses” concept which is provided under Canopy. The Hospitality wall displays a large scale drawing that invites visitors to playful interactive storytelling about great hospitality of Kazakh nation. The figure of the host and the guest are introduced to help people understand the stories explained on the wall.

Once the key words and objects are touched by visitors, an animation clip is activated that illustrates the meaning of the related tradition. Sound effects complete the interactive experience.
Hospitality has been considered a sacred duty in Kazakhstan since ancient times. It is customary to welcome a traveler in one's home as a “heavenly messenger” by offering the best refreshments and lodging for the night.
